Newborn Photoshoots...

Sorry for this post being out of order...i just couldn't help but share these pictures we had taken.

The following pictures were taken by Aunt Kenna before we were discharged from the hospital on 7/22/10. Jackson was 1 day old.

We were blessed to have my sister stay with us the first few days of Jackson's life, along with the first few days that James returned to work. She was such a big help and I appreciate her giving up her time with Owen, Kate, and Tyson in order to assist us. What an awesome sister we have!

In the pictures that follow, JT was 11 days old. Sara and Preston Ackerman took these pictures in their studio one Sunday afternoon. Afterwards, I took their maternity pictures while James cared for JT in the car. It all worked out great and we enjoyed our time with them. Also, my mom (Sandi) crocheted the quilt he is laying on in these pictures...

Jackson is 6 weeks old today...

Jackson Thomas is 6 weeks old today. Last night his daddy weighed him and he was a whopping 12lb 8oz...unknown on his length. He is due for his next appointment on Sept 20th, where he will get his 2 month shots :(

He has not rolled over yet, but he is getting closer every day!

His favorite thing to do is look at contrasts on walls and look at lights, fans, and fixtures of any kind.

Check out those rolls on his arms!!! Wow...who would've thought we would have such a chubby baby boy. I love it! He is very healthy to say the least :)

August 2010

Jackson enjoying his first bath in the whale tub...he is definitely a fan!

So JT and I had some trouble with the whole breastfeeding/milk coming in/his little belly can't handle all this milk..situation. So his first ever bottle was given to him at 3 days old with formula to supplement due to his upset stomach. This was a very hard day for all three of us (emotional...not because of the formula, but because he had to go under bili lights) therefore, we were not up to taking first bottle pictures. So this is JT at 3 weeks enjoying a bottle of breastmilk thanks to his daddy...

JT at 5 weeks old - meets uncle Roger Porterfield at Eck Drug.

JT at 2 weeks old - meets PAPA ECK at the Lawton VA.

JT at 2 weeks old - meets Nanny at her home in Wichita Falls, Tx.

JBF SALE - Tulsa, Ok - August 21, 2010 (JT - 1 month old). Aunt K and GrandMom came to shop as well. Jackson was asleep almost the entire time, which means he's a great shopper!!!

As we were in the ridiculously long checkout line (took 1 1/2 hrs to get to a cashier), I spotted Mall madness in the game section which was within reach of the checkout line. $4 later, Owen had a new favorite game that was a classic to Kenna, Trav, and I growing up...awesome!

Jackson smiled for his daddy at two weeks of age. James was unable to get a clear picture of it, so I captured this one when he smiled at me at 3 weeks of age. He is such a happy boy!

July 21st 2010 - Our Son Is Born

Jackson Thomas Nix was born at 10:15a.m. on July 21st, 2010 (my sweet brother's birthday---I planned it that way!!!) This was the sweetest moment of my life...to hear his cry and see him for the first time...God is so good!

As you can see from the picture, We had a very healthy baby boy...weighing 8lb 11oz and measuring 20" long. James, at birth, weighed 8lb 6oz and I weighed 7lb 11oz...

I am so blessed to have such a sweet and loving husband to help me through my pregnancy and life in general.

This picture below describes our life together...fun and full of laughs and love. He is truly amazing and I thank God every day for having us attend school in Healdton America...and eventually marry one another :)

Why so long?

So sorry to all of you for not updating my blog in forever!
Since November, I've started the last semester of nursing school
and therefore, have been extremely busy with school, homework,
clinical, full time working, etc. Jay & I, on November 16th, had exciting
news as we had our first ever positive pregnancy test! I'm currently 26 weeks
along and we are having a boy :) Jackson Thomas Nix will be born sometime
mid-late July. So hopefully i can get some pregnancy pictures on here before
he arrives. Again, sorry for the delay...life has taken over :)
